CYT Spring 2026 Show Audition Form

Students must be registered in a current CYT class.

Please properly fill out all required fields. Have your music, photo, conflicts, and bio ready before you submit.

*This form must be completed by 11pm on Monday, Mar. 16th in order to audition.*

Photo - Please upload a headshot (close-up photo) of the auditioner. (JPG, PNG) Don't worry, it doesn't need to be super fancy. We just want to match your name with your face at auditions.

We will be taking new headshots for the program and show promotion.
Please state which show you will be auditioning for, please note it is always encouraged to choose BOTH so that you have a better chance at being cast in one of the shows. There is no guarantee of being cast in a show, particularly when "BOTH" is not listed, though we always do our best to cast our students, and we try to give them their preference when possible. You may also bring a notecard to your audition, listing your show preference, and your top 3 roles. This of course doesn't mean that you will be cast in one of those roles. It's just a way for you to communicate to the directors, and let them know your interests.

Audition song track - AUDIO FILE ONLY - Please *upload an audio file* of your instrumental accompaniment track to which you will be singing. (MP3, AAC, M4A, WAV)

Your track should not be longer than 1 minute. If you submit a full song, we will need you to tell us the start time at the beginning of your audition. *1 minute plus a lead in time of a few seconds is ok.

Your track WILL NOT WORK if it is any of the following:
.MOV, iTunes, YouTube, Google Drive link, or any kind of LINK,
.jpg, .pdf, or any kind of screenshot of anything.
To purchase tracks, some great options are jwpepper.com, musicaltheatrebackingtracks.net, broadwaytrax.com, the-accompanist.net, and pianotrax.com. You can then take your purchased music track and trim it using Audacity.

Rehearsal Schedule Conflicts - Please select the dates for which you are NOT available. Not everyone will be called to every rehearsal. We are able to accommodate a few conflicts. If you are missing more than 15 hours of rehearsal, you may need to reevaluate your participation in the production. Excessive conflicts can impact your casting. Tuesday and Friday rehearsals are 5:30-8:30pm, and Saturday rehearsals are 10am-4pm. Tech rehearsals and shows are not listed here. PLEASE REMEMBER WE DO NOT ALLOW CONFLICTS DURING FOR THE FINAL WEEKEND BEFORE TECH WEEK, TECH WEEK AND PERFORMANCES! Please note if any of the above dates are partial conflicts where your student will only miss part of rehearsal. Please let us know the times they will miss that day.
Program Bio - Please submit a bio for the cast member. This is the bio that will be in the program. Please write a real, proper show biography that is appropriate for the viewing public. Bios must be 375 characters or less.

T-Shirt Size - This is for the show shirt that is included with the student production fee. There will later be an order form for family and fans.

Video Audition Submission - If you are submitting a video audition, please upload your video audition to YouTube or Vimeo (unlisted) and share the link here.
Below we are asking about parent volunteer hours. Please read this brief description of committees so that you can pick a committee that fits best with your schedule. Then sign that you read and understand the requirements for the committees.
COSTUMES: Sewing experience not required. Helps create and put together costumes. Majority of the volunteer hours are during pre-show, but tech/show weeks will be asked to help backstage with repairs and quick changes. Some hours can be done working at home on items.
PROPS: Create prop pieces based on list provided by director/committee chair. Majority of the hours are done pre-show and some work can be done at home.
SETS: Build set pieces. Most work is done on Saturdays pre-show. Tech/show week require set up and tear down.
GREEN ROOM: Supervise cast during rehearsals/shows, siblings are allowed during pre-show rehearsals but NOT during tech/show week. Hours are pre-show and during tech/shows as we always need adult supervision.
TECH: Assists with soundboard, mics, lighting, LED panels etc. Hours are during tech/show week.
FRONT OF HOUSE: Gather donations for raffle baskets. Work during shows selling merchandise, raffle tickets and concessions. Majority of the hours are done during tech/show week.
WIGS/MAKEUP: Majority of work is pre-show styling wigs. During tech/show week combine with costumes to assist with makeup, putting wigs on/off etc.
